Hello, and thanks for stopping by my little particle on the internet.  I'll give you a little background about myself.  I am a singer songwriter, mostly influenced by contemporary folk, gospel and rock. I've been surrounded by musical notes since I can't remember, and it actually seemed relatively natural to respond to that backdrop through inventions of my own, ...in time.

My father was a rock and roller that got messed up in that whole coming off the hippy generation, rock scene, yea, behold ...southern rock  - The whole turn that seemed to happen after Hell's

Angels members publically murdered at a Rolling Stones concert. That's when the iron was hot for pops.  He was involved with gangs and it really sent my world into a spin early on, as a son.  Music was such a refuge for me back then.  After hearing the song In My Room by Brian Wilson, I thought, "that's me", ...along with my parents collection of 45s I knew  there was something in  this world of music calling me out.

When I hit my teen years  Iwas attracted to songs that seemed to repel the interest of others in my sphere.  For example, when I got a hold of a copy of Astral Weeks by Van Morrison, I wore it out.  My friends thought I was crazy for listening to projects like that.  I was hungry for music that was interesting and had something to say in a time culturally and age-wise in which what you needed to say seemed to mean very little.  Okay, I could ramble on about this particular subject but I'll move on.

Although music was and is such a big part of my life, my interest in writing poetry is what initially inspired me to get serious about writing, and playing guitar together.  This happened while I was in college.  I had already been playing guitar for a while, playing covers and other friends' songs in rock bands, but I hadn't put my own poetry and the music thing together until this time.  To mesh them together lit a fire for me.  To me songwriting has become an art form to say something through creative means. My basic goal is to explore my God-given individuality and uniqueness through the message of word & song in a way that connects with others and at best encourages others, ..and myself.   Through that honesty I think there's always someone out there who'll say, "me too" or "I needed to hear that", ...after all we're all in this soup together.  Peace out brothers and sisters!
